Our tester said that using the app itself was pretty straightforward. They gave her a “to-do” list which consisted of a few instructions about how intermittent fasting works. It also asked to connect to her iPhone. She was able to set how long she wanted to fast for and adjust what her eating window was, which she made from 12:00 p.m.to 8:00 a.m. each day, which is mostly when she is sleeping. Simple allowed her to see her fasting “countdown” and progress for the day on her phone’s lock screen which was a helpful reminder to drink water and log water intake and eat enough during the nonfasting window,

There is also the Weight Performance section of the app. Here, our tester was able to log her progress as well as upload progress photos of herself. As the week went on, Avo, the wellness AI app, sent a lot of notifications during the day, many of which encouraged her to add lemon to her water during fasts or to ask Avo a question. After a while, the notifications became a little tedious and distracting, but overall the app worked well to help her with intermittent fasting.

Team member and experienced CrossFitter Amanda Dvorak first discovered Street Parking in April 2020. She has been using the platform consistently since January 2023. Although the app doesn’t offer one-on-one coaching support, she still gave it a perfect score for accountability. She noted that there’s a strong sense of community and support through social media, including a private Facebook group.

From a programming perspective, Street Parking provides sufficient variety, with two to four different versions of the metcons posted daily from Monday through Saturday. This includes a dumbbell-focused version, a barbell-focused version, and a beginner-friendly option that uses lower weights, fewer reps, and less technical movements. This is a great feature because it’s more inclusive, depending on the equipment someone might have access to at home or their gym.

The daily workouts are usually shorter than 20 minutes and feature functional fitness movements like farmer’s carries and lunges. Since Street Parking’s founders modeled their fitness methodology after CrossFit, they also incorporate familiar exercises like barbell snatches and wall walks in their programming. You can expect plenty of AMRAPs (as many rounds or reps as possible) and EMOMs (every minute on the minute), which are also found in CrossFit-style workouts.

In addition, you can try everything from a 5K training program to a 5/3/1 strength program to bodyweight-only workouts that can be completed from the comfort of your own home.
